New Geneva Tasting Room and Brew house nears completion!

New Geneva Tasting Room and Brew house nears completion!

After over 12 months of designs, permits, approvals, revisions, paperwork, code adherence, renovation, preservation and construction….. we can see a light at the end of the tunnel and are pretty sure it is not a train! The journey from a 100 year old movie theater to a start of the art brewery, restaurant and tasting room is no small trip. Building a virtual “Brew City” inside the 4 walls of a 200 foot by 50 foot 40 foot high brick structure took some amazing vision, know how, fortitude and guts. As of this writing, we are getting the big equipment delivered, set up and poised for a late June / early July brew session. The front end will supersede the brew house by a few weeks to get the beer, food and entertainment rolling. The newly created 12,000 square foot facility will feature a large wrap around tasting bar, table seating for over 150, a half dozen booths to seat another 20 or so, a large kitchen featuring a wood fired oven, indoor / outdoor tables at the entry and under the marquee, a large game room with over sized windows overlooking the brewery, semiprivate dining deck at brewery level and a grand centered stage under the newly discovered and completely renovated ceiling dome. Materials and finishes are mostly period correct circa 1900 and earlier. The soaring 35’ high ceilings have been uncovered and restored to their original glory as has the stage surround and arches that one held the pipe organ for stage plays and silent movies.

We have respected and enjoyed the entire project and are very proud to be a part of keeping the history, architecture and spirit of the great city of Geneva intact and moving ahead into the 21st Century. We hope that these pictures and renderings help to communicate the excitement and pride we have put into making downtown Geneva our new Headquarters!

Seasonal Brews are in the pipeline!

With the holiday season comes may wonderful festivities and traditions. Of coarse our favorite part about this time of the year are the seasonal brews! That said over the next few weeks we will be rolling our a few of our own. Belgian Bur, Quaker Express Oatmeal Stout and barrel aged Scotch Ale are just a few to get the season going!

Belgian Bur is one of John's long anticipated masterpieces. Using the same yeast as in our wildly popular Farmhouse Ale, the Belgian Bur is a mildly hopped full flavor beer with a medium body, hints of clove orange and winter ale spice.

Quaker Express Oatmeal Stout is our current version of the timeless classic. Our oatmeal stout is a full bodied stout that has an unreal smoothness from the addition of oats into the mash.  The oats not only enhance the mouth feel, but give a touch of sweetness that makes it unique among stouts. Our blend boasts a mix of three grains to make this a staff and customer favorite.

Bourbon Barrel Scotch Ale is our first barrel aged brew. Aged 8 months in oak bourbon barrels, this tasty treat will be one for the record books!

Twisted Rail Wins Again!

Yesterday the Rochester Knight Hawks hosted "Knight of Beer" a tasting event at Blue Cross Arena. The event included Rorhbach, Roc Brewing, Lost Borough, Climbing Bines, Swift Water, Great Lakes, Naked Dove, CB, VB, Southern Tier as well as Twisted Rail. Each attendee had the opportunity to taste 10 beers and the vote for the brewery the liked best. When it was all over, Twisted Rail had the most votes, solidifying them at the Tasters Choice!
